We present to you: FARAH LOUX's debut album "FLAWS".
"Flaws", a work of love - crafted and recorded over the past two years, is Farah Loux's first full length release. They are overcome with excitement to finally be able to share this special release with the public. For the first two weeks of the release, "Flaws" will be set as 'pay what you want' - we only ask in return that you share "Flaws" with as many as your friends as possible!
It's not often you find a band that includes all sections of a classical orchestra, but New Zealand alt-folk band FARAH LOUX (formerly known as Alaska)
have it covered with just six members. Using a range of unconventional instruments (including harp and peruvian clarinet) they write and execute unique
arrangements that add honesty to their songs and emotional clarity to their lyrics. With influence ranging from Arcade Fire and Radiohead to Chopin,
the creative sound that FARAH LOUX brings is "atmospherically gorgeous and utterly sincere" (Metro Magazine).
Formed in 2009 under the name Alaska, Farah Loux have been playing around New Zealand working on their craft and enjoying the music they make.
They are looking forward to releasing their debut LP FLAWS in 2012.
released 11 September 2012
All songs written and produced by Farah Loux. Produced and engineered by Jason Hole of Black Diamond Productions (Jose Gonzalez, Dimmer, SJD).
Thank you Matthew Hutchings (lap steel), Sung Jin Hong (double bass, brass), drunk asian jazz student (saxophone) for lending your talents! And all of our friends who stomped, clapped and yelled on "Flaws".
